May I just say I LOVE this book! I am about one third through it, which is usually about where I quit reading, and I hate that I can't just neglect my children(more than usual)and finish the damn thing in one sitting! I don't usually run out and buy books Oprah promotes, but this one looked very interesting. And it is! I can really relate to the authors confusion on religion and what being spiritual means.
Maybe this book will give some advice on how to find what is right for me in terms of God and spirituality. I am just not sure how God and I are supposed to hook up yet. All this "religious" talk on the same day I went to Catholic mass with my mother.....WHATS IT ALL MEAN???

SNOW, SNOW GO AWAY...
Most winters I am really saddened we don't get snow like we did when we were kids. It seemed that we got a decent amount of snow once a week or so. (Now do not quote me on that since I have blocked out most of my childhood!)
The last few winters we've gotten like 2 inches in all of December. This week though we gotten like 10 effing inches of snow! It is starting to piss me off. Tonight I had big plans....getting groceries!! Jealous??? Saturday night spend in Piggly Wiggly! Believe me, it is not the freezing dairy section that I am pissed about missing out on tonight. It was my hopes of feeding my kids a normal dinner.
At first, I wasn't too worried 'cause I found a box of frozen waffles, then I noticed that syrup was #4 on my list. Now because of Mother Nature and her alone (it has nothing to do with my shitty planning and procrastination) Owen & Sophia are eating an array of pantry misfits and freezer delights! I thawed some frozen strawberries to put on the waffles, and Trevor is grilling a pork tenderloin. It is kind of like brunch at night! What would that be?? linner or dunch??
Now, I am grateful that I can feed the kids something, I mean we could probably live on all the stuff we have for a month. But this is not a good showing for a mother working part time...as a nutrition educator.

Christmas Cookies...Yum!
With Thanksgiving and the Stephenson Family cold (a.k.a The Snot Pocket Virus) out of the way, we are gearing up for Christmas. This week we put up the tree, made some cookies, and considered getting the pumpkins off the front porch!! Then an ice storm came and cemented the pumpkins there until spring. Beat that Martha Stewart!!
The cookies turned out really yummy. Notice, I didn't use the word pretty! I included a picture of the star that Sophia drown in icing. Honestly, the color we made looks really cool. Kind of Tiffany box blue. Since, I've made one batch of cookies, I have already out done last years Holiday Baking.
Well, I better go replace the Halloween flag in the yard with the Christmas one. Hey, maybe on St. Patrick's Day when I take the Christmas flag down, the pumpkins will be thawed and ready to go too! Keep your fingers crossed!
