11/2/10

Coming out of the dark just in time to turn back the clocks!

Well, hello strangers.  How have you been?

I have been BUSY! Really, really busy.  Most of it's been fun busy though, so I'm not complaining.  Lots of photo shoots, Owen's basketball practices, Sophia's gymnastics classes, Trevor's hunting season, halloween, and best of all 5 nightly phone calls from the political candidates.

Our schedule is a little bit overwhelming at times depending on the homework situation I have going on.  Last week, I played catch up for missing the week before for a work conference and it sucked.  Clearly, my learning style requires seeing or hearing information first hand from the professor. This week our schedule is about as busy, but I don't feel like a chicken with my head cut off so it's been smooth sailing so far.  My homemade photo props have come in really handy for keeping track of what is going on...take a look. These are right above the kids art/homework table, so you'll find Owen's spelling words on there too.  I'd love to know what you think, so leave me a comment!

Notice in this picture, Sophia was pretending to eat the chalk. Goof ball!

Here's a brief photo review of the last few weeks here at the Compound.

Halloween 2010
Snow White & Adrian Peterson

I'm going to blow up this photo like life size, I love it.

Owen's first basketball game: Mineral Point vs. Dodgeville

Looks like these guys are having fun, which is what it's all about in 3rd grade!
BTW...Sophia snapped this picture, and about 60 more just about like it.

Sophia's first gymnastic class.  She loved every minute of it.  As we were leaving she said she wanted to quit school and only go to gymnastics...so I explained to her that we don't live in Russia, and here in the United States girls can do both!

Owen bought a new game with his own money...BeyBlades.  It's basically battling tops, and it's been fun for all of us.

So, now that I'm finally feeling like we have some breathing room in our crazy hectic days, we are about to lose a damn hour of daylight on Sunday.  I hate 5pm darkness and it's racing toward us....pass the Vitamin D please!
