G for Gold

These photos were taken inside of the Governor's conference room in the State Capitol building in Madison. The gold paint throughout this room, is real gold! It's thinly painted over the carved wood. 
This is one of the very cool detail I learned, while I explored the capitol, with Owen and the rest of his 4th grade class.

  1. I love your photos - they had gold like that on the doors and windows in Frankfurt. I think it was the government building in the square.
