I wonder if this has anything to do with the added weight in the last couple of years...more sitting, less recess with kids-that from time to time need to be carried (or dragged) off the playground, then to gym with them and let them chase me. Throw in the added sensory breaks where I am jumping, pulling and playing, and I had myself a little workout routine! Now I work out my ass...sitting in at a WIC Clinic, Food Pantry, having lunch at a Senior Mealsite, in my car traveling to Arena and other corners of Iowa County, or at home writing on a blog that about 3 people find interesting. Yeah...that might have something to do with it!
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. I love the 20 hour work weeks. They have allowed me to think about other areas of my life. I am pretty sure I wouldn't have had time to discover that I love to write & blog. I picked up some other good habits too- being HAPPY when I get home from work, balancing my checkbook more often, never having dirty laundry laying on the laundry room floor, and compulsively lying about having my laundry done. Just to name a few!
But the most important and awesome thing about working fewer hours is that I can spend more time with these guys!
I included a picture of myself in this edition because I have really gotten to know myself since changing jobs. I don't know if it's the extra time or my increasing age or what exactly, but one thing I know for sure, I am happier now than ever and that alone is worth the added weight.
Have a relaxing and work-free weekend!!
